About Roll Ball
Roll Ball is a fast-paced, Indian-origin team sport that combines the skating skills of speed skating with the ball-handling and scoring dynamics of basketball and handball. Two teams of skaters compete on a court, dribbling and passing a ball while skating at speed, with the goal of scoring into the opponent's net.
The sport demands a rare combination of balance, agility, endurance and tactical awareness - players must control the ball with their hands while maintaining speed and stability on skates, making every match a display of athleticism as much as skill.
Since its origin in India, Roll Ball has grown rapidly, now played competitively across the country and internationally under the International Roll Ball Federation (IRBF), with a Roll Ball World Cup held periodically featuring teams from multiple countries - including Team India, proudly represented by players from Tamil Nadu.
About STRBA
Sports Tamilnadu Roll Ball Association (STRBA) is the recognised state body governing the sport of Roll Ball in Tamil Nadu. Affiliated to the Roll Ball Federation of India (RBFI) and, through it, to the International Roll Ball Federation (IRBF), STRBA is responsible for developing the sport at every level - from grassroots district programmes to fielding players on the national and international stage.
Run by a democratically elected executive committee alongside district-level associations, coaches and certified referees, STRBA has spent over a decade building Roll Ball into a growing competitive sport across Tamil Nadu - with players from the state going on to represent India at the Roll Ball World Cup and Asian Championships.
Our Mission
- 1Promote and develop Roll Ball as a mainstream sport across all districts of Tamil Nadu.
- 2Organise state and district-level championships to identify and nurture new talent.
- 3Prepare and send Tamil Nadu players to represent India at national and international championships.
- 4Train and certify coaches and referees to raise the standard of the sport statewide.
- 5Build a sustainable district-level association network under a democratically run executive committee.
